ICAR 2016 Convention will be held in Borovets, Bulgaria.
Borovets is a mountain resort, located 70 km. from Sofia – the capital of Bulgaria. The venue will be in hotel Samokov 4*.
Travel to Borovets is either by flying to Sofia (SOF) and further transfer to Borovets – by car or by bus, OR traveling with car to Borovets.
Sofia International Airport (SOF) is the closest airport to Borovets.
There are daily flights from/to all major cities in Europe and all major European airlines and airports offer flights to Sofia (Frankfurt 5 flights daily, Munich - 4, London Heathrow - 3, Paris – 3, Vienna – 6, etc.)
Shuttle buses from the Sofia airport to Borovets and back will be provided for the delegates, arriving by plane. The distance from Sofia Airport to Borovets is 70 km. and the travel will be approx. 1 hour. There will be a special meeting desk in the arrivals hall of the airport, after the customs control and volunteers from MRS will be meeting the delegates.
In order to arrange shuttle busses schedule convenient to the delegates, everyone will be requested to submit travel details in the registration form, or later, but before Sep. 30 – it will be very helpful for our aim to deliver the best service possible. A detailed timetable of the shuttle busses from / to the airport will be published on the web-site of the conference. No need to worry about getting to the conference, just remember to give us your arrival times when registering (or later, but before Sep. 30).
Borovets is a ski resort located 70 km / 43.5 miles from Sofia (approx. 1.30 h. by car/bus).
For driving from Sofia to Borovets you take the first class road No 82 (South-East direction of Sofia) and passing through the town of Samokov you continue to Borovets.
The Samokov hotel (the same name as the town of Samokov) has an own parking area with 100 places, free for delegates.
